A dramatic coastline buzzing with life View on Google maps
Chile’s central coast is home to a string of characterful coastal towns and bays secluded by dramatic cliffs, each more breathtaking than the last. Culture vultures flock to the colorful, ramshackle port city of Valparaíso, whilst pleasure-seekers head to the neighboring, ritzier Viña del Mar.
To the South, the rugged, windswept charm of surfer’s paradise Punta de Lobos. And to the North, undiscovered white-sand coves near Zapallar and Cochagua.
"After several hours spent getting happily lost walking up and down the city's hills through the maze of narrow, brightly-painted streets, we stumbled across a restaurant with the picture perfect terrace at exactly the right moment. Sipping a cool glass of Sauvignon Blanc and tucking into a delicious plate of crispy pan-seared salmon whilst watching the sun set over the bay has to be up there among my most content moments in life."
